Pure magic encircled the Fox Theatre in Walsenburg on Saturday evening, September 29th, when a nearly standing room only crowd heard the incredible performances of internationally known harpers Aine Minogue and Sunita Staneslow. Local talents Ken Willson and Kim McKee, Taos harpist Julie Norem-Hawley and Vermont-based piper Tim Cummings rounded out the evening’s entertainment. The stage was like a fairyland with floral arrangements created by Rye’s own Debbie Smith.

The evening began with an opening with Willson and McKee, Hawley, and Cummins that was only a taste of what was to come. Headliner Aine Minogue totally captivated the audience with her light as a feather touch on the harp and her beautiful “fragile, lilting voice”. Following Aine was co-headliner Sunita Staneslow whose command of the harp is stunning and who kept her audience in the “palm of her hands.”
