At a meeting of the Directors of Colorado City Metropolitan District last Tuesday evening, October 30, 2018, the board was schooled in the difference between a violation of state water policy and a water quality violation. In 2016, the district was notified that it lacked appropriate documentation describing the policy, and efforts to control, backflow prevention and cross contamination. At some point between the notice of the six violations and the Tuesday evening board meeting, corrective action fell through the cracks and was not taken. Interim Manager Donny Scheid informed the board of the paperwork SNAFU, that he had managed to reduce the number ov violations from six to one, and that customers must be notified when water bills are mailed on November 1. Given the districtís history of water quality issues Director Greg Collins asked if Scheid could prepare a press release to accompany statements reiterating that water quality is not at issue.
