Villa Bella K-5 Expeditionary School, a Pueblo County School District 70 Charter School, has received nearly a $700K grant in start up funds for the Charter School Program. The three-year award will see $229,250 allocated for the start up year (2019-2020). Construction of the school will begin in January on 1.6 acres just west of the roundabout off Rawlings Boulevard near the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
Pueblo County Director of Budget and Finance, Aimee Tihonovich indicated late last week that marijuana represents five percent of the county’s $85.9 million general fund. She also said projected 2019 budget revenues are $5.7 million.
Gas prices continue to fall in Pueblo but remain among the highest on the front range. Pueblo’s average price of $2.71 early on Monday was down from $2.86 a month ago but is higher than the statewide average of $2.67 and the U.S. average of $2.55.
