The Rye Wrestling Team placed 4th at the Limon Badger Invitational last weekend, winning two golds in the 25-team tournament.

Colton Miller won the gold at 113 lbs. with four victories. In his first match it took only 54 seconds for Millerís first fall, followed by a fall 1:17 into the second period, a 6-1 decision in the semi-finals and a fall 48 seconds into the second period over Michael Romer of Swink. Miller is 6-1 in the young season.

The second gold came in the 120 lb. weight class where Michael Atencio, seeded fourth in the bracket, won a pair of falls and two technical falls including a 16-0 decision over Bill Felthager of Trinidad in the finals. Atencio is 8-0 this season.

Zach Ruiz placed third in the 106 lb. weight class. After a first round bye, Ruiz won a fall in 1:25. In the semi-final he lost a 9-2 decision but came back in the consolation semi-final with a 10-4 decision setting up his third-place match. He defeated John Smith of Yuma 7-3 to win the bronze.
