Dean Decker is in his third year as head wrestling coach for Rye High School. And at the moment he cant see an end to his days in that position.

Im not coaching because I have kids wrestling, he shares. Im not doing it for the money. Im not doing it for any other reason than that I enjoy coaching and enjoy giving back to the school, and the program that was good to me when I wrestled for Rye High School. I do it because I enjoy everything about it and right now, I dont see that changing.

Decker placed fifth in the state tournament as a junior in the 126 lb. weight class and finished 3rd as a senior in the 132 lb. weight class during his Thunderbolt wrestling career.

Decker is assisted by Michael Atencio Sr., Brandon Peterson, and Billy Jack Forell. Forell will be splitting time between the high school program and serving as Head Coach of the Craver Middle School program. Forell coached for Decker last year as well.
