The Colorado City Metropolitan District Board of Directors held their first meeting of 2019 announcing fresh strategies to deal with old challenges and new directions.

Historically, Hollydot Golf Course is about to enter a period of decreased activity, and income, based mostly on weather. The district plans to offer financial incentives to those who acquire or renew club memberships earlier in the season. This fresh strategy should increase course income while routine cart, equipment, and landscape maintenance are accomplished.

The new direction is an updated proposal presented by Director Cook in support of a district road program, by some accounts approximately thirty-seven years overdue. The draft proposal establishes permit fees, penalties for non-performance, maintenance schedules, construction standards, and policies dealing with requests for new or extended roads in the district. Directors will consider the draft and provide feedback with public hearings before formal adoption.
