Eight members were in attendance for the first 2019 Rye/Colorado City Saddle Club meeting that was held January 9, 2019 at the library. Board members in attendance were Gail Cassel,President; Gay Christie, Vice President; Nan Hassey, Treasurer and Directors Bob Le Turgez, Cindy Schafer and Ben Franciscotti. Gay Christie chaired the meeting but did not have the minutes from the November 2018 meeting for review. Nan Hassey provided the current financial statement. Ben Franciscotti inquired as to how the balance compared to prior years and it appeared that the Club had maintained between $2,600 to $4,000 the last five years going into the new year.

Gay Christie advised that the arena is now completely painted with the exception of the roping boxes. She mentioned that the year-end clean up failed as no one showed up. She also has sponsorship letters ready to be distributed to the membership and is hoping that each member could bring in at least two sponsors. The sponsorships will range from $50 (card size information on website only), $100 for a small sign and $150 for a large sign displayed at the arena. Nan Hassey agreed to be in charge of the sponsorship drive.

Christie also mentioned that elections will be held at the February 13 meeting and a few people have already volunteered for the positions of president, secretary, treasurer and three general board members. She also advised that Kathy Lesser has not had anyone volunteer to run the Gymkhana events and without this spot being filled there will be no Gymkhanas.
