The Greenhorn Valley Book Club and the Greenhorn Valley Library began what should be a mutually beneficial liaison last Wednesday when the book club, in it’s 28th year, accepted the library's offer of sponsorship for their group.

Joy Marostica, a lifelong member of the book club, was elated. “For all these years we have met in private homes,” she shared at the initial meeting at the library. “The downside was we were always limited in space so had to keep our membership at a conservative size.”

Normally, according to Marostica, the club has had about eight members but the initial meeting at the library sported over a dozen people interested in expanding their literary knowledge.

“We generally set up our schedule for the following year in November,” shared Marositica. “Generally, we have a theme for the year. This year it was classics. Each month has a host/hostess who pick a book and then we gather to discuss it and share what we thought of the book.”
