Madison Gookin threw the shot put a gold medal distance of 35’5” and Tess Zupancic had a season’s best 29.43 seconds in the 200 meter dash for a second gold medal. The two led the girl’s team to a second place finish in Division II at the John Tate Challenge Cup held in Pueblo.

Zupancic also finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.55.

The Thunderbolts scored 72 points, second only to Gunnison’s 138.8 points. There were 13 teams in the girls’ half of the bracket.

The girls 4x800 meter relay team finished second in a season best time of 11:15.85. Audrey Himmelberg, Audrey Maroney, Jolee Ortiz and Emma Lesser made up the team.
