The Rye Girls soccer team took on three opponents over the past week. Adding two wins and one lose to their overall record which now stands at 3-1. They will be playing against the Evangelical Christian Academy on Thursday, April 11th for their next game.

The first game the Thunderbolts played over the week was against the Fountain Valley Danes, on Tuesday, April 2nd. The final score was 2-5 ending with a Thunderbolt loss. Goals were scored by sisters Sophie and Sydney Adamson, with one assist from Sydney. For defense the team had a total of 35 steals with Erin Betx leading with eight. Lauren Maroney worked hard in the goal preventing six shot attempts from the other team. Head coach Mike Wing said, “We got up on them in the first half and they came back with four unanswered goals in the second half I attribute that loss to coaching.”

The following game was against the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks, on Thursday April 4th. The ending score was 4-3 with a Thunderbolt win as a result. Ella Peters scored three while Sydney Adamson scored the other goal of the game. Assists were given by Rachel Chadwick, Sydney Adamson, two given by Sophie Adamson. During the game the team had a total of 11 steals, Betz and Sylah Marquez leading the team with four steals a piece. Wing went on to say, “It was a great game at home, a real nail biter, but our girls played really well.”
