Sheila Henderson ended nearly 23 years of service to the Bank of the San Juans’ on March 29, 2019. She also ended eight years as the Branch Manager of that bank, now owned by Glacier Banks.

Henderson began her employment with the Greenhorn Valley Bank in 1996 as a teller. She had been working in Pueblo and stopped in to see if the bank was hiring. She wanted to work closer to her Rye home. She was interviewed by Bank President Morris Chambers, bank Vice-President Kathy Chambers and Head Teller Lois Prichard. She was offered and accepted the job on the spot.

“I just knew the time was right,” said Henderson about her resignation. “There is a season for everything and my season in banking was over”

Henderson will join husband Cordell in the retired ranks. Cordell retired from the school district in 2004 but has kept himself busy with odd jobs and projects. He and his newly retired wife will celebrate 44 years of marriage this week.
