A spring cleanup at the Greenhorn Valley Community Garden this past Saturday was a great success due to four hard working 6th grade girls and an 8th grade girl from Craver Middle School as part of a school service day. Weed pulling and general cleanup was done to prepare the garden for the growing season. The Community Garden, a project of VFC, benefits VFC's Open Pantry by supplying fresh produce, along with providing raised beds to members of the community for personal gardening. Our thanks to these girls, their parents, and the teachers and administrators at Craver for emphasizing the importance of volunteering in our local community.
