Local Coffee Roaster Creates Nonprofit to Support Local Initiatives

PUEBLO, Colo. (June 9, 2019) – The iconic Beulah running race is back in 2019! Solar Roast Coffee has formed the nonprofit Solar Roast Cares to assist with organizing the race, which benefits the Beulah School of Natural Sciences and local nonprofit Southern Colorado Trail Builders. Jessica Hartkop of Solar Roast Coffee is spearheading the effort and will be directing the 2019 Beulah Challenge race.

The Beulah Challenge 5k, 10k, and half marathon races take place on September 28th. Participants of all levels are encouraged to register for the the race. The 5k course is a classic for walkers and an annual challenge for the area’s fastest short course runners. The 10k explores a loop of country roads in the Beulah Valley, and the half marathon course follows country roads to a rugged trail section through the historic Pueblo Mountain Park.

The race offers categories for all ages with cash prizes for first overall finishers of each race. Free camping will be available for participants the night before the race. All race participants will receive a race shirt (must register before order deadline). Registration is open now…and there’s still enough time to get trained up!
