The Volunteers for Community (VFC) 11th annual yard sale, July 19-21, will bring something different to the Valley this year. The sale will be held at 4705 Santa Fe Drive in Colorado City, the building which VFC is renovating into the Peaks to Prairie community center. As usual, the building’s 7,200 square feet will be filled with everything from vintage and collectible decor to camping equipment and a basement full of “guy stuff”. This year VFC will also offer numerous items from the estate of Mary Moore, a well known china painter and world traveler who loved to be of service to the community. The estate sale features original art by recognized artists, working-cowboy chaps, and a wide variety of other unique items. VFC volunteers have put in many hundreds of hours polishing up and arranging everything for shoppers’ convenience. There will also be a bake sale Friday and Saturday morning. The sale runs from 8 to 5 on Friday and Saturday, and 8 to 3 on Sunday. An antique piano which was donated by the Moore estate will not be sold, but will be kept at the center for use at future community events when renovation of the center is complete.
