Since local Realtor/Broker Art Klock began selling real estate in Pueblo County, he has seen over 6000 realtors come and go just in the local area. Thatís from a pool that probably sits about the 400 mark on a normal day.

His secret for 48 years of success? ďI took the classes and learned what to do to be a success and now I do it,Ē he shared. ďIíve worked through three economic cycles now. Good or bad economy, you canít sit in your office and wait for the phone to ring. You have to get out from behind your desk and work."

On September 7t, Klock will celebrate 48 years as a real estate broker. ďThere are a number of homes in the valley Iíve sold four or five times."

Initially, Klock worked as an engineer for the Colorado Department of Transportation(CDOT). He was part of the building of the interstate from St. Charles to Trinidad and also worked on a number of Highway 165 projects.

Klock bought a house from the Haver Land Company, at that time the oldest company in Pueblo County. The realtor he worked with told him if he ever wanted to get a real estate license to call him. Klock saw state layoffs coming and three months later gave the realtor a call.
