After a huge water main break between Grand Avenue and Court Street in Pueblo, followed by fears of contaminated water and a boil order, repairs will now begin on the section on West Fourth Street that was torn up in the process. The main was only three years old and questions need to be answered about why it ruptured. It is hoped the new asphalt will be installed this Friday.

Boone World War II veteran Cirilo Razo celebrated his 105th birthday. Razo immigrated from Mexico at the age of 7, fought in and survived the Battle of Normandy, fathered 13 children and has over a 100 grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.

The Pueblo Police Department received 154 calls concerning fireworks between midnight Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday. They issued 17 fireworks citations. The department received a total of 898 calls in that same time period.

Over 650 runners participated in the Liberty Point 5K held as a fund raiser for the United Way of Pueblo County. Walker Rudolph, 19, a track and field athlete at UC-Colorado Springs had the second-best time in history at 16:03 for the event. Pueblo West High School Athlete Aspen Fulbright, 15, was the top female finisher. With a time of 20:39.
