Megan Cletcher was surprised on Tuesday, July 13 when a large bear broke four panes in her French doors and forced his way into her home. Cletcher said she was surprised because she practiced “safe bear area living”. She had no food or trash outside and the grill had not been used for weeks. The bear opened cupboards and the freezer and knocked over cabinets, eating meat and dry goods and generally making a huge mess. Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputy Patty Minkler responded to the call and called the Division of Wildlife.

Seven local youth were competing in the Little Britches Rodeo in Pueblo. Competitors were as follows: Mackenzie Scott, Hali Scott, Avery Scott, Lizzi Snyder, Dane Banta, Garret Peacock, Clayton Peacock, and Paul Dallaguardia.

The Town of Rye was getting new stripes in the crosswalk at Main Street and Boulder. Jim Erickson, owner of Eric’s Pavement Marking of Pueblo laughed, “You caught us painting the town.”
