A parent and student information night will be held August 23rd at the Greenhorn Valley Library at 6:30 p.m.

Mike Bowler will be teaching a Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI) course called Key to Liberty. This project is an in-depth study of the Founding era, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. Students will get to know the heroes who crafted these documents, all in a fun and interactive setting. Students will discover the principles that have secured our liberty ever since, and have a chance to find the hero in themselves.

There is a nominal cost for the binder and books but mentors and teachers are unpaid and the project is not for profit.

Classes will be two hours long and held every Friday from September 6th through April 2020. For further questions call Mike at (719) 243-2211

Last fall about a dozen valley youth ages 12-18 set aside their stage fright and participated in Shakespeare Conquest, a Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI) project provided by Rye resident, Laura Bowler. Students learned about Shakespeare, the person, and why his work still matters. They memorized and performed “As You Like It” at Piano Marvel in Rye.
