Pueblo County Commissioner Garrison Ortiz said Tuesday that he intends to run for a second term as Pueblo County Commissioner. He currently serves as board chairman and represents District 2.

Pueblo West voters will vote on a ballot measure to raise one percent sales tax increase to help fund fire protection services, including a new fire station. The Pueblo West Metropolitan Board agreed Tuesday to the necessary decisions to pave the way for the ballot measure.

A recall effort against Colorado Senate President Leroy Garcia got the official go-ahead from the Colorado Secretary of State on Monday. The recall petition format was approved opening the way for signature gathering.

A long time Pueblo attorney and county court judge, Kathleen Hearn Croshal was nominated and later elected President of the Colorado Bar Association last year and began her one-year term on July 1

St. Mary-Corwin introduced “Simon” to a room full of seniors interested in the latest development in partial and full knee replacements. The robotic assistant was purchased by the hospital, one of only 600 to do so, as the next step in the hospital’s commitment to the latest in orthopedic care. In the near future Simon will be added to the roster of services at the hospital.
