D70 is back with another Bond plan? It seems that we need to work on “Safety and Security”. REALLY! Wasn’t that the main reason for the 2012 Bond Issue? Why then do we have a safety and security issue now? Of course in 2012 we didn’t need any infrastructure upgrades so we used a big chunk of the money for Tracks, Football Fields, Tennis Courts, Gymnasiums, Theaters, and other important academic facilities and in just the short time since 2012 we find out infrastructure is crumbling. I will bet that there is no Facilities Audit that details the infrastructure deficiencies along with a cost estimate for each one. It is probably like the last time when we passed a bond issue and then had to have a committee to figure out where we wanted to spend the money. We are already hearing the same old refrain, “Safety and Security”, and “It’s for the Kids”. And hey, it will only cost about $1 per month for a $250,000 home. 36% of my property taxes already go to D70. This is getting a little old.
