Third year Head Volleyball Coach Jamie Donlon lost five seniors from her state qualifying team of 2018-19. Those five have been replaced by five more seniors and Donlon has made it clear they will need to step up and fill those positions. Donlon has been pleased with their hard work over the summer.

“We look to our seniors for leadership,” stated Donlon. “The seniors take care of team business.”

The current varsity team is taller than the team of a year gone by and so Donlon and assistant coaches Luann Lauritzen and Jamie Graham have made defensive changes to take advantage of the additional height.

“We are definitely going to be a blocking team this year,” stated the Head Coach.

On offense they will use a pair of different set ups depending on the rotation of the players. The majority of time they will go with a 5-1 but in certain cases they will use a 6-2.

Donlon sees John Mall and Hoehne as a pair of tough teams in this years 2A Santa Fe League but also admits with five new coaches in the league entire systems could be in play with some of the league opponents.
