The Colorado City/Rye Lions Club is proud to announce that Lions Josh and Brianna Conner were awarded with a plaque for Lions of the Year for 2019 for their enthusiasm, service and being the first to volunteer for any job, big or little, for the Colorado City/Rye Lions Club. Lion Josh excels in his work with the Chuckwagon at all major community events. His wife, Lion Brianna, also works and contributes to the Chuckwagon and this year has taken on an assistant role with the Leos Club at Rye High School.

Theia Bravo from the Rawlings Library made a presentation at the Lions Club meeting outlining various workshops offered at the Library and offering their facilities for any future Lions events. Ms. Bravo reminded everyone in the Colorado City/Rye area that the Library offers a program for residents who may be homebound. Audio books are delivered to residents’ homes. Those wishing more information should contact Renee Montano at the Library.

Natalie Lepley of Main Street Boutique addressed the Lions regarding Santa Comes to Rye on December 7th and requested the Lions Club Chuckwagon to participate in this event. After discussion, a motion was made and unanimously passed that the Chuckwagon would participate in the December 7th Santa Comes to Rye event and serve food from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The former Rye Cafe will be open for seating for meals and for use of the restrooms.
