Although not as successful as their first meet, the Rye Knowledge Bowl team still succeeded at their latest meet on October 17, 2019. Both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams did well in the written round. When asked about how he felt about our performance in that round, Kyle Freeburg said, “I feel like we’re living up to the expectation of Rye A, just a little bit.” This means that this year’s Knowledge Bowl turnout is important to continue the streak from our past generations. The Knowledge Bowl varsity teams from the past are a very prestigious group that Rye students will continue to honor. Our varsity team scored 28 points that round and our junior varsity team scored 25 points. In the first buzz-round, the A team won 14 additional points, and our B team with the same. At the end of the second buzz-round, the B team was still ahead of any other B teams, and our A team was only a small distance away from the leading A team, which this time, was Lamar. Unfortunately, the third and last round did not go as well as intended, with both the A and B teams behind any others.
