Although the Rye High School Boys’ Basketball team dropped three games last week, Head Coach Kyle Spencer sees his young team moving in the right direction.

“In the last three games we’ve put ourselves in position to win each one,” shared Spencer. “That is always our vision. We are on the right track to take the next step.”

Last Tuesday against Pueblo Centennial, a larger school, the Thunderbolts lost the first quarter 13-4 but tied the Pueblo team 44-44 in the last three quarters.

Camden Godinez a sophomore and Hayden Polk, a junior each had 11 points in the effort that took place in the Thunderdome.

Last Thursday the T-Bolts fell to Swink in a game at Swink. Swink gradually pulled away and won 56-43 but Rye kept the contest close up to the final buzzer.

Polk led the team with 16 points in the Swink contest and Michael Valdez scored 15 points.
