“This was the best wrestling as a whole, we’ve had all season” shared Head Coach Billy Jack Forell about the team dual tournament held in Kersey Colorado last weekend. The Platte Valley Invite 2020, held south of Greeley, was a team vs team event so the Thunderbolts, sporting only five wrestlers went 1-4 as a team but in actual matches the five came away with 20 wins and only five losses.

At 113 lbs. Riley Prichard won a 6-4 decision, won a fall with 29 seconds left in the match, won a fall :33 seconds into the first period, won a forfeit, and won a fall in :37 seconds.

At 120 lbs. Michael Atencio won a 19-3 technical fall, won a forfeit, won a fall 50 seconds into the second period, won a forfeit, and won a fall at the 1:15 mark in the first period.

Cole Miller at 126 lbs. won a fall 81 seconds into the first period, won a fall in 45 seconds, won a fall in 59 seconds, won a fall 40 seconds into the second period, and won a fall in 48 seconds. That was a total of five falls in five matches, four of which never got out of the first period.
