When Wyatt Earp met up with Doc Holliday in the movie “Tombstone”, he inquired “How the “ #^*& “ are you?” Doc replied, “Wyatt, I am rolling!” Well, so are the Lady “T-Bolts”. On Friday, January 31st, Rye travelled south to Walsenburg to take on the “Panthers.” Rye had already beaten John Mall 54-5 on December 20th. This meeting had the same results. Rye led 22-1 after the first quarter, so Coach Spencer sent in the JV squad to finish it.

Rye hit 36% from the hardwood, with 21 total rebounds and 10 steals. Scoring leaders included Jolee Ortiz with 15 points, and Chloe Richardson with 12 points. Ortiz, Richardson, Sophie Adamson, and Morgan Elarton all hit 50% or better from the floor.

On Defense, Ortiz had six steals. Sydnie Adamson and Gracie Graham had six and four rebounds respectively. Final score ended up with the win for Rye, 45-23.

The Lady “T-Bolts’” second game of the week was on Saturday, February 2nd, and occurred amongst a lot of festivities at the High School. Crowley County came to town to test the still unbeaten “Bolts.” Again, the JV team got some work as the Varsity sprinted to a 25-1 end of first Quarter score. Rye hit 54% from the floor, and 90% from the free throw line.

Jolee Ortiz again led the scoring with 13 points. Chloe Richardson followed with 12. The Adamsons balanced it out with 11 points each.
