Okay folks, it’s getting down to the nitty-gritty! On February 12th, your Lady “T-Bolts” travelled to Hoehne to take on the “Farmers” for the second time in a conference match-up. Rye last played Hoehne on January 18th at home, with a final score of 38 - 15. If you remember, that game was a nail-biter in the first half, but Rye opened it up in the second half for the win.

This second meetings’ result was generally the same, with Rye coming out on top, 57 - 30. Sophie Adamson led the scoring with 14 points. She was followed by Chloe Richardson with 13, and Jolee Ortiz with 11 points. Ortiz, Sydney Adamson, and Morgan Elarton all hit a stunning 67% from the floor. Rye ran their classic run and gun fast break offense, and broke Hoehne down with their full court press. As a result, Ortiz also had 6 steals on Defense.

Team wise, Rye shot 45% from the hardwood, and out-rebounded the “Farmers” 31 - 19. Rye is averaging 53.8 points per game, and is now 17 - 0.

On February 15th, Rye headed East to combat the Simla “Cubs” ???. Baby seals come to mind...Anyway, this was a non-conference contest which Rye handled easily, 57 - 28. Sophie Adamson led the “T - Bolts” with 16 points, followed by Sydney Adamson with 15, Jolee Ortiz with 13, and Morgan Elarton with ten points. Sophie hit 67% from the floor, and was 100% from the free throw line. Sydney was also 100% from the line, and had five steals on Defense. Jolee hit three from beyond the bonus line, and added six steals Defensively.

As a team, Rye was 43% from the floor, had 16 steals, and added 23 rebounds. Rye now stands 18 -0, and prepares for the also 18 - 0 Rocky Ford “Meloneers”. This game is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th, 5:30pm, at Rocky Ford.

For a season recap of the teams, Rye averages 53.8 points per game versus Rocky’s 48.2. Rye gets about 26 rebounds per game, to Rocky’s 31. Rye averages about 15 steals, against Rocky’s 16. Rye has scored 968 points this season, and given up 395. Rocky has scored 867 points, and given up 536. Pretty even on paper, but stats don’t win games, players do!

GO BOLTS!!!
