The basketball season ended for the boy’s team on the hardwood court at Holly Monday night but according to Head Coach Kyle Spencer the Thunderbolts could hold their heads up against a tough Holly team.

"Turning frustration into fight was our theme for the night,” shared Spencer. “And I couldn't be prouder of the fight that we put up against a top team. We executed and stayed locked in for long stretches which was one of the goals we'd been battling through all season. Despite holding a potent offense to only 46 points, Holly's second lowest scoring session all season, we couldn't find a rhythm offensively either and put ourselves in a difficult position to win at the end."

Cambden Godinez led the team with nine points and Daniel Indgjer had four points.

Rye had the opportunity to face #1 seed Holly because of a victory over Las Animas in a due or die game on the road.

Kreed Rahl scored a season high 18 points and Godinez backed him up with nine more points as the Thunderbolts, who trailed at the end of the first quarter 11-5, rolled to a 57-43 victory.
