In the final hours before 46 seniors at Rye High School were to receive their diplomas virtually, the powers that be decided that they could have an in-person graduation on the Rye High School football field. The district and staff moved into high gear and arranged a ceremony that took place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, on the football field.

Principal Michelle Mann described the effort of the faculty, staff, and D70 officials as, worth the panicked work. She thanked a myriad of people including Tammy VanOort, Felicity Holloway, and Karen Hopkins, who were the senior sponsors. She thanked Adam Baumgartner, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director; Peggy Jordan, School counselor; Debbie Houghton, President of the D70 School Board; Ed Smith, D70 Superintendent; Greg Keasling, Director of Student Services; and Todd Syke, Public Relations for the District, along with other Rye High School personnel.
