The YMCA Fire was declared contained at 303 acres on 3:35 p.m. on July 16, 2020. The fire, four miles west of Canon City began on July 8th from a lightning strike.

A new fire is burning near the Grand County-Summit County line. Smoke from the Dice Hill fire can be seen from Kremmling and Colorado State Highway 9. The fire is estimated to be about 30 acres in size. No evacuations have been ordered; however, deputies are encouraging campers in the area to get out.

Air tankers have been ordered to help fight the fire as a helicopter is dropping water onto the fire. The cause of the fire is not clear at this time. There is also no count, as of yet, in regard to the number of personnel fighting the fire.
