On July 20th at about 10:45 a.m. Deputy Rachel C. Villarreal was dispatched to a Pueblo West address regarding a fraud report. The reporting party indicated his spouse had received an e-mail request from a friend asking her to buy some gift cards. Two cards totaling $300 were purchased. The couple realized the persons e-mail had been hacked and did not send pictures of the cards or the codes on the cards.

The PCSO was given a copy of the e-mail but there were no IP address headers. The RP’s are disputing the cost of the gift cards with their bank.

On July 17 Deputy Edward D. Herrera responded to a theft call at just after noon. The groundskeeper at the address Deputy Herrera went to indicated that a storage unit at the address had been discovered open with nothing missing. Deputy Herrera verified that the interior of the storage unit had spider webs and dust which would indicate no one had disturbed the contents. The reporting party indicated the lock and chain that had been on the unit had a value of $40.
