In the July 28, 2020 Colorado City Metropolitan District Board meeting, District Manager Jim Eccher notified the board of a big problem that has been dropped on the CCMD. He explained changes in the clear well procedures, to increase contact time, that are being required by the state and must be in place in November. Eccher was joined by staff members Gary Golladay and Donnie Scheid in explaining the changes that have to be made and the plan they have to address the issue. If Metro employees do the work themselves, this project will cost at least $96,416. Although the state insists that these requirements be met, and done so in a short amount of time, no funding or help is offered by the state. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided that more information was needed before action could be taken on this project. A suggestion was made that a special meeting may need to take place after information is gathered.
