Rye/Colorado City (RCC) Saddle Club had a great summer season. COVID, drought, heat, or social distancing didn’t make much of an impact on these hard working, hard riding horse enthusiasts. While other organizations were unable to have their monthly meetings, due to meeting rooms being closed, RCC members simply moved their meetings out in the fresh air at the arena and carried on. As a private club, operating on private property, RCC President, Gay Christie, says they were able to have pretty much their normal summer season, with the exception of the cancellation of the state fair parade and events.

Christie said, “We had a good season, we had a huge attendance of competitors, and the stands were packed with spectators. Concession sales were off the charts. I think everyone was glad to have somewhere they could go for some entertainment.”
