A fraud was reported by an individual in the Boone area on August 31 at about 11:30 a.m. Deputy Melinda Solano-Gifford was dispatched. The reporting party indicated by telephone they had received a call from someone saying they were with for assistance on August 29. An unknown person called this date, claiming also to be from and indicating they needed access to the RP cell phone. The RP allowed the access and was told to send $500 as a demo run. The RP did this twice. The RP then noticed the $1000 was missing from their bank account. The RP closed the bank account and went to a service provider to reset the phone because it still had the unknown app on it.
