On Tuesday, September 15 at about 2 p.m. Deputy Joshua Beckwith contacted a resident of Pueblo West by telephone in regard to a fraud complaint. The reporting party indicated they tried to get an on-line loan. They were contacted by a representative of the company and were asked for additional information which they provided. The RP was told they were approved for $8,000.

The RP was then called and told they could not get the entire amount and that they would have to go and buy some gift cards amounting to $1,400. The RP did as he was told. The suspect company sent two fraudulent checks to the RP’s bank. The fraud department of the RP’s bank called and said the checks were fake. The RP was out $1400. The case was filed.

A brand new $200 on a truck was cut with a sharp object in the Mesa area and reported on September 13 at about 9 a.m. Sergeant Ben Parsons responded to the call and visited with the reporting party who indicated they had a movement alert from there “ring” doorbell at approximately 5:45 a.m. When the RP went to the door and turned on the porchlight a dark colored truck sped off. The damage was not noticed until daylight. Photos were taken and a case file was started on the criminal mischief.
