Governor Jared Polis indicated on Tuesday he is concerned about the trend of rising COVID-19 hospitalizations and encouraged the people of Colorado not to get complacent about the virus. On September 4 there were 132 people in hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 cases. On Monday that number had risen to 233. The highest amount of hospitalized cases was 888 on April 14. On June 27 that number was at 126.

Pueblo West High School resumed classes on Tuesday after being closed Monday because of a positive case exposure. Three individuals will be out 14 days and will be learning remotely. Pueblo West is the largest high school in Pueblo County.
