With Christmas lurking just a few weeks away, the small group of the Spanish Peaks Tapestry Weavers may become some of your best friends when you see the hand-woven variety of potential gifts they create.

The Spanish Peaks Tapestry group came together as a group of weavers interested in doing tapestries. Organized in 2008 with the encouragement of the late James Koehler, a famous weaver in the New Mexico area, the Spanish Peak Weavers have grown and expanded their styles to display individual tastes. With just eight members at this time, the group is small enough they can encourage each other to try new styles and ideas. The group is a subgroup of the larger Hand Weavers Guild of Pueblo which has about eighty members and offers a variety of groups that are available to teach new weavers or guide weavers into a different style of production.
