An explosion at 5309 Cibola Drive at about 2 a.m. on April 8, 2020 and the subsequent clean-up, or lack thereof, have left a neighborhood with trash, debris, and questions. The questions include who is going to clean up the trash and debris that has been blowing back and forth in the neighborhood for nine months. The temporary fence around the explosion site was removed in October which allowed what trash had collected inside the fence to join the freedom of the rest of the trash.

The uncertainty revolves around a concern on the part of the State of Colorado that asbestos may be a factor, who will pay for the remediation, when the lot will get cleaned up and leveled or quite frankly, if it ever will get cleaned up and leveled.
