Pueblo City Council received an update Monday as to how the city’s $6.5 million in CARES Act funding was spent. Executive Director of Southern Colorado Economic Development Shelly Dunham, Pueblo City Chief of Staff Laura Solano, and Mayor Nick Gradisar gave a presentation to council members during the work session meeting. The presentation also broke down how the $6,575,945 of DOLA Coronavirus Relief Funds were spent.
Carl Genova, a successful second-generation Pueblo area farmer died on December 25. Known for his humility and passion for working in agricultural water rights, Genova was a board member of the Bessemer Ditch Co. for 38 years and the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District for 20 years. Honored for his work, Genova was awarded the Bob Appel Friend of the Arkansas Award in recognition of those who have worked to improve the Arkansas River.
