I grew up in Arvada, Colorado, when it was still a small farming town. I attended CU in Boulder, served in the Peace Corps in Brazil, then attended law school in Washington, DC, where I worked until I retired and moved back home to Colorado. I am very proud of the fact that my great grandfather, a Republican member of the Iowa legislature, introduced the law that gave women the right to vote in that state.
