Hike of the Month: New Year's Hike and an Unsolved Murder
Terry Kraus | Tuesday, January 05, 2021
Adjust story text size:
We decided to start the New Year off with a hike, and chose Mt. Herman Trail near Monument, Colorado. The trail was described in the guide we read as ”a short but fairly steep hike with impressive views at the top.” The round-trip distance to the Monument is 2.2 miles. With plenty of sunshine left in the rather short days at this time of year and practically no wind, we decided to continue to the mountain behind the monument for a total round trip distance of just over four miles.
