Is this how we feel? I read this. “In 2021 for the New Year, shhhhh, we are going to tiptoe in real quiet, be kind, keep our cool, and don’t touch anything to upset in the least, whatsoever.”
We have learned we never know what a year may hold! You thunk, Steve? My suggestion is to pray this New Year prayer: “Heavenly Father, when it’s been hard to see the good, I come with thanksgiving for all the good that is ours in Christ. I am not sure what this year holds after a year like last year. This year will be better if I keep Christ in first place. Let me revisit His great sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection. Help me not to be held back by the things behind us but to use faith and press forward toward the goal, prize and high calling in Jesus. It is healthier if I just take one day at a time. Life is enhanced if we take time to enjoy the simple, but powerful things like nature, sacred music, & those you love."
"We pray healing for our nation and the world. Remind me, Holy Spirit that we are here to be a witness for Christ and we are in this world to glorify God. Prompt me to return daily to Your Word, the Bible, for wisdom and direction. Weave prayer throughout my day. I want to speak to You frequently, Lord! Your grace is enough when I am weak. This year, use me to bless and encourage others and build relationships in the midst of social distancing. God, You are relational and You created us relational."
" Remind me to quickly forgive. Lord, you give a peace the world cannot give, nor can it be taken away. Our hope is in You and that Jesus is coming again!” Amen.
