Letter to the Editor: Newspeak.

Being that the Democrats are still in charge of Congress, the infiltration of their progressive "wokeness" is out in the open.
From changes to the House rules package for the new 117th Congress:
(3) In clause 8(c)(3) of rule XXIII, strike ‘‘father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, step sister, half brother, half sister, grandson, or grand daughter’’ and insert ‘‘parent, child, sibling, parent’s sibling, first cousin, sibling’s child, spouse, parent in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, stepparent, step child, stepsibling, half-sibling, or grandchild.’’ . . .
(6) In clause 4 of rule XXVII, strike ‘‘himself or herself’’ and insert ‘‘themself.”
And another twist of stupidity: Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), an ordained United Methodist minister, opened the first congressional session with a prayer that he ended with, "amen and awoman." Strange that a Reverend of 37 years wouldn't know that "amen” at the end of a prayer meant "so be it." Gender identity run amok.
I headed this letter with the term, "Newspeak." It's a term from George Orwell's novel "1984" and is described as: "…a controlled language of simplified grammar and restricted vocabulary designed to limit the individual's ability to think and articulate "subversive" concepts such as personal identity [gender included], self-expression and free will."
This past weekend a popular golfer in the tournament missed a putt and said a "homophobic slur." He later apologized, but I didn't see the tournament and looked for a news story stating what he said. Unfortunately, unless you watched the event, you'd never know what was actually said. So, according to the media, I guess the word no longer exist.
"1984" you're little late in getting here, but you finally made it.
