Dakota Stupar will begin his first year as head coach of the Rye High School boys’ basketball team and plans on presenting a disciplined, deliberate, possession-oriented basketball team to the Rye/Colorado City fans. That is depending on how many fans actually get to watch games in an ever-changing sports picture because of COVID-19. Stupar is Pueblo born and raised and while he is working on his Master’s Degree he also works as a para-professional for District 70. The 2009 Central High School graduate has a solid coaching background. At the ripe old age of 22 he was named the Head Coach of the Pueblo Central Girls’ basketball team. In addition to his RHS coaching duties he will be the head coach for both boys’ and girls’ tennis at Pueblo County. To read the article, subscribe to the Greenhorn Valley View.
