The Rye Women’s Soccer Team showed great improvement over the last week. Early losses were then countered with amazing victories.

Rye opened up their week with a home game against Fountain Valley. Fountain Valley, the reigning state champs, scored early and often building a large lead. Late in the game, senior Elise Scott came off the bench to score a goal. Rye would lose the game 7-1 despite senior Alyssa Clayton’s amazing 25 saves. The Bolts were held to only four shots on goal through the entire 80-minute game.

Following a tough loss, Rye visited the Alamosa Maroons. Alamosa played a strong game, holding the Rye offense in check. The Bolts were unable to score in the contest, and couldn’t hold off the Maroons. Alamosa would win the match by a 4-0 tally. “Alamosa is the size of a 4A school,” said Coach Robles; “I am very happy with my girls hanging with this tough team, especially considering we were missing five girls. We were missing essentially our entire back row.”
