Rye women’s soccer faced a massive test early on in the week, facing the St. Mary’s Pirates. The Pirates sat at 9-3 entering the match against the Bolts on April 27th. Rye hosted St. Mary’s for the contest. The Pirates, dominating the first half, set the early tempo of the game. St. Mary’s kept the ball on the Bolts half of the field, and held back the Rye offense. At the half, Rye was down 9-0. After 11 minutes of second half soccer, the Pirates scored again forcing a 10-0 mercy rule. The Bolts only got two shots on goal, and St. Mary’s had 23.

Coming off of a tough loss, Rye visited the Trinidad Miners on the second. Rye got off to a good start, scoring one first half goal. Rye then scored two in the second half, all unanswered. Rye won the game 3-0, with goals by freshman forward Ella Peters, senior Alyssa Clayton, and sophomore Jade Ray. “We played a very good game,” said Coach Kim Robles, “it was a snowy game where my girls had to battle. I was very happy with our goalkeeping today. Great win for us.” The game proved to be a bit rough, with 21 fouls called between the two teams.
