The Rye High School co-ed track team competed in their first meet at Dutch Clark Stadium in Pueblo last weekend. This week because of Spring Break they will be idle but will compete at the Hornet Invitational at Pueblo County High School on the 31st of March.

The highest finisher for the Thunderbolts was the girls’ 4X800 meter relay team composed of Emma Lesser, Faith Paquette, Makayla Rodriguez, and Jolee Ortiz who placed 5th in a time of 11:35.63. The girl’s 4X400 team took 7th. Ortiz was joined by Audrey Himmelberg, Hannah Ambler, and Tess Zupancic in that event.

The boy’s 4X400 meter relay team placed 8th in a time of 3:44.68. Gabe Slade, Akash Patel, Ben Squier, and Colton Sims made up that squad. Will Goos and Brock Roman joined Patel and Squier in the 4X200 meter relay in which they placed 12th in a time of 1:43.30.
