Rocky Ford had a wonderful Homecoming football game at the expense of the visiting Rye High School Thunderbolts, dominating the contest and winning 46-8 at Rocky Ford last Friday night.

The Meloneers scored four touchdowns in the air and three on the ground and didn’t punt a single time in the contest.

“Rocky Ford was a tough game and a tough loss,” shared Head Coach Connor Pigg. “Football is a game of momentum and we gave Rocky too much momentum and never developed our own.”

The locals managed only 107 yards of total offense and 85 of those yards came on a fourth quarter kickoff return by Robert Buford. Running backs for the T-Bolts carried the ball 27 times from scrimmage and managed only 22 yards. Hayden Polk had 18 of those yards on 10 carries and Riley Prichard had seven yards on four carries.
