The Rye High School Girls’ Basketball team dropped their first game of the season last Thursday in the friendly confines of the Thunderdome to Swink 34-28. The game was close throughout the duration. Going into the final stanza Rye led 25-24 but Swink outscored the locals 10-3 in the final quarter for the victory.

“The Swink game didn’t turn out the way we wanted,” shared Head Coach Kermit Spencer,” But, I believe the girls played very soundly. We gained a level of confidence as a team that should help propel us forward through the second half of the season and into the playoffs.”

Sophie Adamson scored 13 points and had four rebounds in the game. Madison Gookin scored seven points and Hannah Ambler had four rebounds. Jolee Ortiz had three assists. The Lady T’s shot 35% from the field and 50% from the line.
