The Rye High School Girls’ Volleyball team stayed in the thick of things splitting a pair of matches last week.

Last Thursday the Lady T’s went on the road to face the Swallows Spartans in Pueblo. Swallows created a little anxiety for the Thunderbolts with a first game 28-26 victory.

“At Swallows we struggle with defense,” shared Head Coach Jamie Donlon. We weren’t moving our feet to get to the ball.”

The Thunderbolts came back however, with three straight victories, 25-23, 25-21, and 25-20 to win the match.

Tess Zupancic had nine kills and nine blocks in the victory. Jolee Ortiz had seven kills and handled the ball 69 times. Audrey Himmelberg also had seven kills and 29 digs.
